The RAISE (Renewal in Agriculture through Intergenerational Support & Empowerment) Project is an innovative initiative funded by the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) and the Department of Agriculture of Food and the Marine under the CAP Strategic Plan 2023-2027. It is designed to promote sustainable generational renewal in Irish farming by establishing collaborative intergenerational partnerships between young farmers seeking land and older farmers wishing to secure a legacy, promoting knowledge exchange, mentorship, and community resilience.

This project emphasizes tailored training, digital resource development, and advisory support to strengthen farm succession, land access, and farm management practices. With active involvement from farmers, cooperative organisations, and agricultural advisors, RAISE aims to create a scalable model for intergenerational cooperation that benefits rural communities across Ireland.

The project is governed by an operational group known as the SAAC (Sustainable Agriculture Advisory Counsil), which encompasses a multi-stakeholder approach. Partners of the Operational Group Include:

  • The Irish Co-operative Organisation Society
  • Teagasc
  • University College Cork
  • Macra Na Feirme
  • Aurivo Co-operative Society
  • Dairygold Co-operative Society
  • Lakeland Dairies
  • Tirlán Co-operative Society
  • Three Farmer members

The project started in May 2025 and will last for a total of three years, up to the 30th April 2028., with the goal of ensuring a sustainable future for Irish agriculture through vibrant intergenerational partnerships.
